&lt;P&gt;This does not exists and any component must be connected to data somehow.&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;There are a few points to consider:&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;1. connection like components will likely be supported by the studio at some point (see&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TUP-21090" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"&gt;https://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TUP-21090&lt;/A&gt;)&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;2. the challenge with such components is that they are not meaningful in the job in big data environment (it is not an actual node but a virtual component propagating its content to other components)&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;3. a trivial workaround is to emit some data (kind of summary)&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>[Talend Component Kit] Create component without input/output</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the need to create a custom component, which does neither emit nor process anything, similar to the component tDBConnection. Is this possible with the new Talend Component Kit?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If I use an Emitter, it says "Missing output connection for ..."&lt;/P&gt;</description>
