tDBInput_1(Teradata) classnotfound exception

Hi,

I installed the two Teradata Jar's required (I tried both 15.1 and 16.2) and yet I still get this error message for tDBInput_1 (Teradata) message:

Exception in component tDBInput_1
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.teradata.jdbc.TeraDriver
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
at java.lang.Class.forName(Unknown Source)

Any idea what would be causing this?

Hello,

On which talend build version you got this issue? Maybe a wrong installation of driver done here?

The version is 7.1.1.20180829_1603-M3

Hi,

If you are using Talend Teradata component, by default it will prompt to install the right driver during first time. For example, Talend 7.2 will automatically prompt you to install 16.2 driver as shown below. Could you please double check whether the driver details are correct?

It prompted me for 16.2 jars. but they weren't working. It was giving me an error still. So I decided to try the 16.1 Jars and it worked??!! I'm not sure why that is.

Hi,

Unfortunately I do not have a Teradata environment to test it from my end. If you are an enterprise customer, I would recommend to create a support case to get it clarified. Ideally you should be able to connect to the driver recommended in the Studio layout.
