Custom component usage on Talend Enterprise version

Hi,

I am planning to use a Talend custom component downloaded from Talend exchangeon the Talend Enterprise version. May I know if there are any restrictions on usage in Enterprise version with respect to licensing and compliance.

Hi,

it is not official answer (I not a Talend employer), but generally:

yes you can use most of the components from Exchange in any version (in case if the author does not show the opposite)
but you must be very careful - there are only a few developers support those components for long period. Many of components - outdated, some of them just results of tests and abandoned after version 0.1
in the best case they do not work from begin, in the worst case it could happen at any moment when you use them in the production environment

What function you plan to achieve using the custom component. Any difficulty from using the TJava code.

Provide link to the custom component to analyze further.
