Yes, Talend is the best ETL tool for any ETL development / transformation of data between any databases.

For answer to your question, You can migrate the data from MS sql server, and do transformation( customizing schema) and can able to load data into Oracle server.

Kindly feel free and post your questions to get answers here.

Hi,

The job which you will create through Talend open studio will work properly without any issues whenever you run .

But in Talend open studio , from my understanding

1.you can't execute the jobs in parallel using tparallelize component ,
2. Team collaboration is not possible .
3. TAC console will be available only with enterprise version ..

And few more components will not be available in Talend open studio .

Thanks ,
Joe

Thanks Joe for your valuable inputs.

Since, being the beginner in this tool I just have to propose my approach towards data migration from Sql server to Oracle server.

Database size is also not too large.

Just trying to figure out if any tool can minimize my manpower effort in this migration process.

Since the table structure has already modified from the original structure. Will TOS will serve my purpose?

And ,How complex or easy is to learn this tool being a complete new comer in ETL .
