Apparently, the secret is using sqljdbc_auth.dll, which is part of the newer Microsoft JDBC driver 3.0
The problem is that no posts on the forum have been successful at getting this to work.
Anybody out there successful with the new driver, and using Windows authentication?

I cannot connect to SQL Server unless I enable Mixed Mode (allow SQl server administration) security authentication.
Is windows authentication not supported in TOS for SQL server?
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I see no options to specify windows authentication in Talend.
Additionaly, some DBAs do not allow SQL server authentication (for good reason), so hopefully someone can help with this.

Those are old posts you listed, and reference a no longer existent dll. The new dll is sqljdbc_auth.dll from Microsoft, and is contained in the MS newer jdbc driver, which has lots of features that support the newer versions of sql server, including 2008. I have placed that file in several folders, including the one referenced in the old posts that you listed. Does not work.
If you do a search for sqljdbc_auth in the Talend forum, you wil see that no one has got this to work with Talend. Very few DBAs allow sql server authentication - integrated securtity is what everybody uses.
If I cannot get this to work, I will be forced to use SSIS on this project.
