substring for dynamic column in tmap

I am trying to take field out from dynamic column . hence used tmap and tried doing left, right function.

but gave me error stating

Right (dynamic) method there may be errors caused by JVM compatibility.

Please help , need solution to take out a field from dynamic column.

Hi,

If you want to perform the string functions, my recommendation would be to convert the data to String and then perform various String operations.
