TMC - Remote Engine names across environments

I understand this from Talend documentation "If you are using Talend Remote Engines, they must have the same name across all environments to avoid promotion failures.

During promotion, the target tasks will inherit the tags from the source task."

But is there anyway I can promote from one environment to another where the Remote Engine names are different? Anyway to make it work. I'm asking because at the moment I pigeonholed to just two environments. I'm trying to make things work with multiple workspaces (workspaces devoted to environments i.e. Dev/QA/Demo/Prod). Also is it possible to have the same remote engine pairing across environments? For example, if I have a server that hosts a remote engine, Can I have that paired in one environment (env A) and another evironment (env B) in TMC?
