tmap filter and join

Hello Gurus,

I am new to Talend and trying to figure out an existing talend job. There is a tmap that joins two flat files on a column and also I see a filter condition on top of the component where the columns are mapped. My question is, does the talend first applies the filter condition and then apply the inner join or apply the inner join first and then filter the data? TYIA.

Hi,
If filter condition is mentioned where the columns are mapped(input side of tmap), first the data set is first filtered and then it is joined with other data set. Similarly if the filter condition is mentioned on output side of tmap, data sets are joined first and filter is applied on top of joined data set.
