tbarchart functionality query

While I plot the category vs value plot in tBarChart,

I want something like DEPARTMENT_NAME VS COUNT(DEPARTMENT_NAME) Plot

e.g. I want to know, how many times does a department name repeat in the column. So that the Y-axis consists of the count and X-axis consists of the department name

Please help
