problem accesing excel files

Hi,
I've got problems with accessing Excel Files..
When trying to generate the schema of an excel file, at step2, it notifies me:
Filepath Incorrect, although the path is correct
If I try to access an excel input file component inside a job, it returns me the following message:

Starting job excel at 12:15 15/06/2010.
Exception in component tFileInputExcel_1
jxl.read.biff.BiffException: Unable to recognize OLE stream
	at jxl.read.biff.CompoundFile.<init>(CompoundFile.java:116)
	at jxl.read.biff.File.<init>(File.java:127)
	at jxl.Workbook.getWorkbook(Workbook.java:268)

I have reinstalled java recently. I think it must come from here...
So, I have reinstalled Java, then Talend, but I still get this message..
I may not have uninstalled Talend properly. How to uninstall Talend totally? Or it comes elsewhere: from the java libraries?
My Java version is:

java version "1.6.0_13"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.3-b02, mixed mode, sharing)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

the file extension must have been changed from OpenOffice Calc .ods to .xls
That's the reason
