Failed to Create the Java Virtual Machine (Talend v7.4.1) on MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1

I just downloaded Talend 7.4.1, installed it, and when I attempted to open the program I received an alert from Talend stating "Failed to Create the Java Virtual Machine" (alert below). I am running on MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1. Any ideas on what needs to be done here?

I use Mac OS Big Sur, Talend 7.1.1 and JAVA JDK 1.8.0_271

Sorry for our silence.

So far, the new Mac OS Bigsur is not list in the supported operating systems table.

Here is online documentation about: TalendHelpCenter: Compatible Operating Systems for V 7.3.1

We have raised a new feature jira issue on talend bug tracker about tMap Display issues with BigSur. It is still in progress and we are doing the final check on it.

There will be a fixed in V 7.4.1.

*NOTE* Although the procedure below resolved the initial JVM issue in Talend V7.3.1 I experienced problems using certain Talend components.

I have since been able to locate and install V7.4.1 and this fixes the JVM issue, but the other problems still exists, e.g. I'm unable to successfully open a tMap component and at this time I am still unable to fully utilise Talend Data Integration v7.4.1 in a Mac Big Sur OS.

Resolving the JVM Creation Issue in V7.3.1

I had the same issue when upgrading to Big Sur using V 7.3.1.

I can't say why when using Big Sur Talend can't pick up the path in the JAVA_HOME, but after much research I was able to resolve by doing the following (I hope you can also see the screenshots below):

Locate your installed Talend App, right click and select the option to 'Show Package Details'
Open the info.plist file using your preferred editor
Follow the commented instructions to use a specific Java version, by adding a new <string> element to set the -vm value

This certainly worked for me so hope it helps works for you too.

I can confirm that this and other related issues have been resolved by installing V2.4.1 M6 on my Mac Mini running the latest release of Big Sur.
