General ODBC DB Connection

I wish to use the General ODBC DB connection but this does not appear in the drop down list - so I need to install/configure some additional software. I am using TOS DI 6.0 under windows 8.1

Odbc is deprecated in 6.0 since java 8 not support it any more;
You can enable it by importing an odbc connection exported from 5.6 or earlier version.

Ok, I have installed TOS DI 5.6 and have created appropriate ODBC entries for Visual FoxPro tables (see snip1) but when I attempt to create a DB connection to FoxPro tables I get the error message "Connection Failure - Change database settings" (see snip2)
Please can you advise on my mistakes.
