Is there any more error message? [size=2][font="Calibri",sans-serif] Which is located in <Talend Studio installation path>/workspace/.metadata/.log [/font][/size]
[size=2][font="Calibri",sans-serif] What's your JDK? Have you already checked the document about:TalendHelpCenter:Compatible Platforms and Java environments[/font][/size]

Running Linux 12.04 LTS
Running Java Version 1.8.0_66
Was able to get Talend 6.1.1 to partially run by removing the workspace and letting Talend recreate it.
If I click on preferences/java/compiler Talend 6.1.1 CORE DUMPS with the following error:
TOS_DI-linux-gtk-x86: /build/buildd/oxygen-gtk3-1.0.2/src/animations/oxygencomboboxdata.cpp:87: void Oxygen::ComboBoxData::setButton(GtkWidget*): Assertion `!_button._widget' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
The log file from [size=2] <Talend Studio installation path>/workspace/.metadata/.log only contains error messages from the start up. Nothing from the crash. I have attached the file anyway.[/size]

Are you using 64 bit Linux OS?
