Upgrade Methodology Question

Hey Gang,

We've got on-prem Remote Engine(s), mutliple developers using instances of Studio around the globe.

Readying ourselves for an upgrade from 2023-08 to 2024-06.

I've successfully installed 2024-06 locally - and have a testing branch which is going just fine so far.

Here's my open un-answered question:

Once we go forward & set the upgrade settings in Talend Management Console >> Configurations >> Studio

what happens next?
What are the chain of events that occur next time developer opens their studio?
Do the artifacts in TMC Cloud get updated automatically?
1. If they don't - do they need to be updated?
Does the "main" branch need to be converted & pushed to cloud?

Thanks - this is our first production upgrade, and just want to understand the moving pieces that are going to happen & what the order of events to plan for. The documentation lacks this playbook.

Hi Tim,

Yes. After applying studio updates to studio , you will need to rebuild and re publish them to take effective in TMC. It is upto you the customer, if they want to apply the latest artifacts in TMC . But it will not be auto reflected in TMC. Rebuild and re publish should be performed.
