.metadata is read only

Hi friends,
I have worked on TDI5.0 previously.
But now I have installed TDI6.1,but when I click on the .exe file I receive an error as : /workspace/.metadata is read only.
I have also removed th e read only checkbox from the workspace folder and tried to run it,still same issue.
Could you please check and let us know.

Ok.To resolve the issue I had to give myself full control of the work space folder.
It worked then.But I wonder why do I need to do such changes.

Yes I did,but I did it on a virtual machine.

Hi,
This issue is probably caused by authorization. Have you already been given the right ("Write") to the system disk? What's the OS you are using?

Yes I gave all rights and to the user and now its working fine.

In my case I switched the workspace on the first prompt that talend (7.1) shows.

But then to avoid the .metadata is read only error I found the next solution.

Go to the Manage connections and change the workspace to the one that you chose in the first

step, then click ok and start a new project.

It will work because talend 7.1 only can manage

connection. ( In the enterprise version you can create various connections with multiple workspaces).

Make sure to put the same workspace in both first and last step, so it will work fine
