[resolved] Error: svn update and commit on startup

Hi All,
I installed talend open studio for data integration 5.4.1.r111943 in windows 7.
when i open the software i got the error as "svn update and commit on startup".
kindly tell me how to solve it.

Regarding Did you build your Talend Open Studio of DI from talend open source by SVN?
I downloaded windows installer .exe file to install.
if you need log files, could you please tell me where to get those log files to post here.

Regarding Did you build your Talend Open Studio of DI from talend open source by SVN?

I thought you build talend studio from talend open source.
Try this soultion:
1) Use the manual install zip file 'Talend-Open-Sudio5.4.1.zip' instead of windows installer.
2) Unzip it with 7-Zip/ winrar, not with Windows Explorer
3) Unzip it to a root drive, e.g. 'D:\TOS5.4.1\studio\' without any extra space and illegal character in installation path.

Hi,
Did you also get this error when download studio from talend official websitehttp://www.talend.com/download#quicktabs-download_landing? and launch TOS_DI-win32-x86(32bit).exe or TOS_DI-win-x86_64.exe(64bit)?
I have made a testing and everything is going well.

Hi Sabrina,
Regarding downloading from talend website,
I installed and still got the same error after i imported my old jobs.
Then i tried to import Demos project from talend. Then the error has disappered suddenly.
After that, I again opened my old project , this time the error doesnt appear.
But when i try to run the job , i got too many errors which never occured before.
Example
Error message
1. Syntax error on token @catch@ , identifier expected
2. resourceMap cannot be resolve to variable
3. the public Type row22Struct must be defined in its own file
4.Talend Exception cannot be resolved to a type
5.current Componenet cannot be resolved to a variable
6.runStat cannot be resolved
7.globalMap cannot be resolved to a variable
Then i click on the "continue" button to proceed runn
then i got final message as
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
Exception in thread "main"
PS: please tell me how to upload image to the forum

Hi,
You should register and log in as a Community member first, then you'll get a Image upload box that allows to upload screen captures and images up to 200KB.
For registered users, the image upload feature is only available when clickin on "post reply" (not through the quick post")

What's your jdk version? and 32 bit or 64 bit? Could you please paste your log message into forum which is located in <Talend Studio install dir>/workspace/.metadata/.

Hi,
The log message does't indicates your problem.
You are on a 32-bit system, make sure you have installed 32-bit JDK, execute the following command in command prompt to see the JDK information:

d:\>java-version

Hi Sabrina,
java version
java version "1.7.0_21"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_21-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.21-b01, mixed mode)
my windows version - 64 bit , Ram - 8gb
Now i created separate workspace and i imported my older project items to the new workspace.
when i run the job i got the error as
"Execution failed : generationManager is not initialized by the perljet/javajet!"

Did you launch TOS_DI-win32-x86.exe(32 bit studio)?

"Execution failed : generationManager is not initialized by the perljet/javajet!"

This issue is probably caused by a custom component that it is failed to initialize the component javajet file, there exists compilation error in the javelet file.
Did you use custom component in your job design?

Hi Sabrina,
1. i again deleted my newly created talend workspace and recreated again
2. I launched "TOS_DI-win-x86_64.exe"
3. right click "job Designs" and click on import items to import my old jobs to new workspace
4. then i run the particular job
i didn't get any error now, the job run fine.
