Installation issues on Ubuntu 18

I basically got the software to start after messing around with XULRunner and some INI files.

Now I have two issues remaining at least:

Talend starts but the interface looks very distorted. See the screenshot. Is anyone else having issues on Ubuntu?

Talend complains about missing jars and says the network is unavailable. I am not behind a proxy and the network is working just fine.

Thanks. I know it is not officially unsupported. However, I had hoped that some community members might have worked though the issue and have some tips.

For now I am using a Windows VM to run Talend Studio. This is not great since it uses up a lot more space on my SSD drive.
