java.lang.RuntimeException: No application id has been found

Hello all,

I'm running Windows 10, and I'm trying to install TOS_DI V7.0.1

And when I launch the TOS_DI-win-x86_64.exe, I've got an error message :

An error has occured. See the log file...

In the Log, I've (near the end) :

java.lang.RuntimeException: No application id has been found

I've checked the similar problems on this site,but I still can't make it work.

On the Log file, I've got (at the start) :

eclipse.buildId=unknown
java.version=10.0.1
java.vendor=Oracle Corporation
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86_64, WS=win32, NL=fr_FR
Command-line arguments: -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86_64

So, the Java JRE is installed. I've added the JAVA_HOME parameter, and also updated the Path variable, as described in the install guide.

I got the following Java install : jre-10.0.1_windows-x64_bin.exe

Also, the folder's path is short and doesn't include spaces : D:\TOS_DI_V7.0.1

What I don't understand is the following, which is the answer to the exact same problem :

The java.version=1.x.x_xx line shows which version of the JRE your system uses.

Prior to v5.0, Talend Studio required Oracle JDK 1.5 or 1.6.
Since v5.0, Talend Studio requires Oracle JDK 1.6 or 1.7.
Since v6.0, Talend Studio requires Oracle JDK 1.7 or 1.8.

Hum, OK, but I'm at version 10, not 1.something...

What am I missing ?

Hello,

We are not yet targeting oracle java 10.

Please refer to online document about:TalendHelpCenter:Compatible Java Environments

Could you please use oracle java 8 instead to see if it works?

Yes, this was exactly that !

Talend Open Studio for DI (V7.0.1) doesn't work with Java 10.

Uninstalling Java 10 and reinstalling Java JRE 8 solved the problem.
