Knowledge base from File (via Direct Access Gateway)

It appears that Knowledge bases can now utilize existing File connections using the Direct Access Gateway but there are some limitations.

1. If you try to use the "Create connection" button, the File (via Direct Access Gateway) option is not available. However, if an existing File connection exists, you may use it.

2. Dynamic rules do not appear to work with the File connection. It always returns zero files. However, you can use the Manual selection to pick files from the connection.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to use dynamic rules on a file connection which would help streamline adoption and use cases for Qlik Answers in my organization. Additionally, it is quite cumbersome to setup file connections using the config file on the gateway server.

Hi, @mshann01,

This is a new feature. Although I cannot say this for sure, from my experience, once a new type of connection is released, it takes a few releases to be fully integrated to the rest of the platform.

It will be a great addition to the whole Answers solution. We have customers with data privacy concerns that will really benefit from this.
