Expression using variable doesn't work when drill down on chart

I'm new to QV so this may be an easy question. I have a chart that drills down from geographical territory to region. I am using an expression that includes a variable. The calculation works fine at the top level but returns nothing when I drill down. My variable disappears when I drill down. Does someone know what the issue is?

Ummm - it would be useful to have some information:

sample qvw including representative data and the relevant chart
the chart dimensions and expressions
the variable defintion....

Otherwise we are all just guessing...

See attached qvw. When I drill into a region (try region 9) the variable defined in the input box zeroes out. The variable is used in the expressions V% and #Var within the chart at the bottom.

I added the qvw file above, and to clarify the issue: the variable used in the iput box % of month complete disappears when I drill down in the chart, causing the V% and #V expressions to also zero out. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
