Variable expression meaning

Hi Folks,

MinDate=02/01/2010

MinMax is a table and MinDate is a column.

Please explain the meaning of the below expression?

LET vMinDate = Num(Peek('MinDate', 0, 'MinMax'));

Num(Peek('MinDate', 0, 'MinMax'))----> It returns the value of MinDate from the first record read into the table MinMax The value will be stored in vMinDate.
