Hello all,

Now that I have the Qlikview SBE installed, how do I specify where the data comes from?

I have a few csv files that are generated from sql scripts that run against a database. These .csv files are my source data.

If I am right I use this with qlikview to build .qvw/.qvd files on the QlikView server.

This then becomes available (once published/distributed/reloaded) through the QlikView AccessPoint console..

What trumps me is, now that the SBE is installed on the server, how do I specify where the source data is?

I can access the Management console(QMC) and also the QLikView AccessPoint. But nowhere can I see a program/interface to define where the source data is/what I want to use from this source data to create qvd/qvw etc...

I am hoping that your experiences with this product would help me in implementing mine!

Thanks in advance!

QlikView Server is an environment that allows users to access QV applications.

To build QV applications, you have to install QlikView Desktop, where you can write a script that loads the data, and create front end after that. When application is ready, copy it into the QV Server environment.

How to build QV apps? start from here: QlikView Training - Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting Software Solutions | Qlik

Thanks you Michael. That helps a lot.

So, basically, the QlikView SBE server is good for hosting the applications/data that have been created by QlikView Desktop application.

I am surprised that this functionality hasn't been made available through a licensed/enterpirse product that we purchased ( I guess this is where the Publisher comes in (which we haven't purchased)?)

Thanks again for your help... Iwill look at the look at the training material....

Chetan
