Hi everyone, please I will like to know how to connect my data files on Qlikview to excel so that each time I update the file on excel , it automatically updates on QV.

Hi,

I think it doesn't work that way. You can load data from Excel files to QlikView. Then the way that data gets updated in your QlikView file depends on the reload task that you define for this QV File in Management Console,

Hi Olabisi,

You have a few options:

Update QV everytime you enter a value in XL
Have a frequent schedule running (i.e. every 10 odd minutes)
Put a button on XL that triggers a .bat file that does the upload (never tried it, but can't think why it wouldn't work)
Direct Discovery
- You have some limitations on QV features you can use and also you need to either use a Custom Connector (bit like killing a mozzie with a canon in your case) or an ODBC / OLE DB Connection (not sure if a link table from Access to the XL file and then setting up that Access DB as a Data Source would work, but worth a try)

Hi Ian,

I am actually facing the same issue as Olabisi.

I have an excel file that i would constantly be updating (sales file) and i would like that to update my charts (automatically preferably)

However, i am using Qlik Sense instead.
