Hello, I wonder if anyone could explain the difference between using single quotes and square brackets.

I have noticed that in table names, field names, file paths in script they can be used interchangeably. However you cannot replace square brackets in Load inline statement.

From what I have tested in chart expressions you also cannot replace square brackets with single quotes when using field names.

I wonder if there is some general rule for that.

Thanks & Regards,

Mat

The general rule is that square brackets [ ] and double quotes " " are interchangeable. (And usually also grave accents ` `.) But single quotes are different.

HIC
