Newbie learning path

Hi gals, hi guys,

My name is Ernesto and I am new at QlikView. I am very excited on the QlikView possibilities.

I’ve been working on IT related stuff for more than 20 years. My experience have been focused on infrastructure and applications support for the most part but now that I am starting BI with QlikView I would like to know if there is a recommended “learning path” to begin with.

My expectation is to learn the operations basics first and then getting up until mastering the application.

My company offered a Qlikview class that lasted for a week and they brought a representive in from Qliview and we developed and designed an app, great experiece. Also there are several good books that you can purchase for cheap. I purchased QlikView 11 for developers, a great read. Lastly if I'm not mistaken there are quick one off videos on the qlikview site that have helped me in my learning.

1. Your start was great.. since you're a Qlik community member now 🙂

2. I suggest you Google for "Qlikview Tutorial".

You will find a 233 page Qlikview 11 PDF file.

Start with page 1 and in no time you'll be at the last page..

1. QlikView Reference Manual is the first option.

2. There is book: QlikView 11 for developers.

3. QlikView tutorial on qlik.com

4. This community will helps a lot!

Start with QlikView 11 For Developers Book By Barry Harmsen and Miguel Garcia

The advantage learning through this book is you have step by step process of a Project along with Sample Data Files..
