"Too many Document CALs Assigned"

Hi,

I am trying to give access to a user through Access Point but when I go into QMC and try to grant her access I get this error. Int he Summary for that QlikView application, it says that the Document CALs available are 30 and that Document CALs assigned to users are 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Deepti,

Can you put an image to the qmc(console) where say the license available?

do you remove some qvw document that have you license assing?

Hi Deepti ,

Please assign the total number of document cal for perticular document. And once you decide the total number of document cal for your document. then you can easily assign the doc cal , you will not got any error.

Hi Deepti,

Make sure that in the QMC you have enough Document CALs allocated for that document. First step is always allocate, second, assign from that allocated pool.

Deepti,

Those rules apply to Named User CALs. As it mentions in the screenshot, Document CALs are managed under User Documents in the QMC instead.

Agnivesh,

There are 30 Document CALs on the server but only 1 is assigned to this particular QVW application. How can I change that? Please refer to the image below.

You need to decrease the number of cals allocated to one of you other documents, this will allow ou to increase the number on this one, as you can see ALL your 30 cals are already allocated to documents.

also i think it takes 24 hours for a cal to clear the system before a new user can use it.

That only applies to Named User Cals, not document Cals.

Deepti,

You have all remainding 29 Document CALs allocated in different documents. You need to go to another document, decrese the number of Document CALs allocated (they will go back to the pool) and back to this document increasing the number of Number of CALs allocated.

In this section adds the number of Cals,I mean if you are going to add 1 and you have 2 then will stay 3

Fill the Doc cal number as you want to assign for perticular document. And apply . It will show on the

Total number of document cal assign to this document , after this you can assign doc cals for others also .
