Reload Engine on QMC

Hi Friends

My Scheduled task was not running since yesterday at 11:30 when i start it manually its also not started shows waiting status. when i restarted my services and server its gives red label ReloadEngine is down.

please guide me how can i up ReloadEngine and schedule my task and i also want to know what is the reason of this issue how this issue came.

Hi Noman,

There are several reasons failure of reload engine but among them there could be one possibility,

please check whether you are using same sarver license key on same network twice.

This is due to network issue.

Or else please check the Publisher & server license validity.

In the QDS log folder (C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log) there are a series of logs that start with Root_. Post one from a date when you were (first) experiencing problems. Thanks.

This log says it all. The file system is blocking any access/update to - or creation of an EDXResults file. This is the last message from a very long list:

3/6/2015 15:25:17.7931892 Error An unexpected error occurred while trying to update task result file for started task, file=C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\TaskResults\TaskResult_eb46bcaa-baf9-4fa1-b2ce-a75b32d137fc.xml. Exception=System.Exception: Failed to open C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\EDXResults\EDXResult_68ef8148-026f-46a3-b62d-3f55b4b4c6fe.xml with ReadWrite access after 7 retries. Exceptions=

The requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation

Probably the directory contains too many files, or some quota have been exceeded, or the service account lost any required permissions to open the file in Read/Write mode, or something else. On your server, check everything that could be wrong with the following directory and/or its contents:

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\EDXResults

Clean out the directory if it contains more than a few thousand files. Drop all files that are older than 30 days.

Note: as soon as you exceed about 1 million files in a directory, deleting them in Windows Explorer will be troublesome (slooooooooowwwww...)
