Hi,

Is it possible to clear the specific field with Action instead of using the macro.

Hi,

I found the way around by setting the specific field to blank in actions.But would like to know will it have any performance impact by keeping the field value as blank.

Not sure if I understand. I believe it is better doing the clear in an action than in a macro.

When you say, '...keeping the field value blank', what do you mean with keeping it blank?

How often / when are you calling the action? What do you want to achieve?

Thanks for your response. But using action you will not be able to clear a specific field. I am clearing the single field like setting the single field in the action without any values.

I am trying to clear the single field with action not using macros.

Hello

Just add an Action on the field you want to clear and let the search string as blank.

Or you could use the easter egg solution:

Go to help=>about qlikview=> right click on the logo (left under) and then set ExtendedActionsSR3 to 1

This should let you use the clear field action.

Hi,

Go to Properties>Caption>Special Icons> tick Clear... this will provide you a eraser icon on the caption of the relevant list box. This will help rather than using a macro.

Currently i am using same way "Just add an Action on the field you want to clear and let the search string as blank."And the other way you have mentioned will not work as i am using SR1

Yes, and as you already know, you can achieve this by using an empty search string.

This will indeed clear the field, as you see by showing the Current selections.

I still don't know what you want to know. I don't expect any performance issues.
