How to calculate primary sales and secondary sales variance sales percentage?

Hi,

you can use the formula

put your dimension in dimension tab,

and use the formula

(sum(primarysales)-sum(secondarysales))/sum(primarysales).

If you are not satisfied with the solution.Can you please describe further?

Dears,

i have two table that have an primary sales and secondary sales. I want the variance percentage?

Eg:

if i select the 2014 June mean i want the primary and secondary sales percentage

hi,

it means you have two columns, one represent the primary sales of the respected month, and other represent the secondary sales for that month,

then you can create a chart with month as a dimension and the above formula as a expression.

if you dont want to show it for any dimension, you can go for gauge, and show this percent into it

this is my Formula tell me is it correct or not

Primary:

=(Sum({$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} PrimarySales) / (Sum( {$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} PrimarySales)) + (Sum( {$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} Sales)) )

Secondary:

=(Sum({$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} Sales)/ (Sum( {$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} PrimarySales)) + (Sum( {$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} Sales)) )

Text:

=Sum({$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} PrimarySales) / (Sum( {$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} PrimarySales)) + (Sum({$<Year={$(=Max(Year))}>} Sales))*100

//=sum([Primary Sale])/(sum([Primary Sale])+sum([Secondry sale]))*100

Hi again,

you want the variance percentage right, diff of secondary from primary. And if you select month or year then it will calculate for that specific month, or year.

am i correct?

Hi stephen,

then my solution will work perfectly,

use a gauge chart and write your variance expression there,

like for calculating the variance of this year from last we use

(sum(this year sales)-sum(last year sales))/sum(this year sales)

and show this in gauge chart.
