1. what is binary QVW?

2. what are applications you created in your project( what is application)?

3. what is the difference between let and set variables?

4. what is the difference between pivot table and strait table?

5. we use multiple databases or datasource in single application is it possible?

1) binary qvw is loading the entore application in single statement

it should be the first statement in script level likw binary filename.qvw;

2) sales reports ,financial reports

3) let and set are variables

let= '3+2' =5 it returns calculation of right hand side( we can create in script level and ui level also)

set ='3+2' = '3+2' it returns same as it is right hand side( we can create only in script level)

4)pivot:

1)unlimited no of dimensions and expressions

2)drag and drop is poosible

3)sorting is not possible

4)it shows partial sums

stright:

1)drag and drop is not poosible

2)sorting is possible

3)it cant shows partial sums.

5)s its absolutely possible in qlikview.

we can use multiple database

Hi,

1)binary QVW: A qvw which is having binary load that qvw calling as a binary qvw.load data from one app to another app that is called binary load

2) One application contains many things like dashboard,reports,score cards etc...it is just like a DAR

3) Let will evaluates the value but set it won't evaluate the value. set vl use for paths and let vl use for calucated syntaxes

4) So many differences are there just search in community

5) In single application we can use any no.of databases we can fecth the data but once u use the connect then disconnect fron that database and connect to another DB.

Hi Madhu,

There are lot of threads in community regarding this, a short answers for your questions are

. what is binary QVW? - A Qlikview is loaded into another qlikview file, when you do this the datamodel is loaded into another file.

2. what are applications you created in your project( what is application)? -Applications means Dashboards in Qlikview, one Dashboard consists of many charts and reports.

3. what is the difference between let and set variables? - LET will evaluate the expression and assign it to variable and SET just assigns the value to variable without evaluation

4. what is the difference between pivot table and strait table? -

In Straight table - Pivoting is not possible, Grouping is not possible, Subtotals is not possible etc.

5. we use multiple databases or datasource in single application is it possible? - We can use any number of databases/dashboards in one Dashboard, the tables between various databases are joined based on the common column name among the tables.
