Confusion about Alert option !!

Hey,

Can anybody tell me about Alerts ??

I Alert Window, we have events when should alert be fired. It means that only on following events alerts will fire:

On Open , On Post Reload , On Post Reduce . Am i ryt ??

Then why is that Condition used for ?? becoz alerts are going to fire onlya t above stated events.

Please resolve the dilemma.

Under the Tools Menu there are two Alert options. Alerts and Alert Wizard. Here you can define alerts to occur on Post Reload, Open, and Post Reduce. They can include pop-up messages, emails, etc...

Conditions can be defined intuitively with the wizard or using the expression dialog.

You are right apart from Pre and Post Reloads the conditions are there to check whether to pop up the Alert message or not.

Hi,

Let me explain it in this way-

Suppose, you have sales for each month and your sum(sales) go down for any month, below a limit, then you can send a mail to the specified email id(s), so this is the use of condition and when to trigger this sending event is decided by event like "on Open", "On Reload" etc.

Hey,

Under Userid , there is password option. Let say i gve my company id in user id then in password should i insert my computer login password ??

And also What about the server address??

Hi,

Clear and bookmark is for selection, whether to use any bookmark which we have created earlier for the qvw or to use clear all during alert.

Hey ,

Let say we have a bookmark and i added that bookmark.

Now does the condition that we put is checked on that bookmark only and not at any other selection ?? And does we have to explicitly open a bookmark for alert to fire ??

And what happen at all clear selection ??
