I want to know about NPrinitng. What it is and why it is used.

Please suggest me some links that helps me to get the basics and understanding of NPrinting.

Hi, Nikhil.

Historically, Qlikview has not had a particularly strong ability to print or publish reports. Qlik have preferred to concentrate their efforts on the strengths of Qlikview - business intelligence and data discovery. This has lead to other companies producing their own add-ons to improve QlikView ability to distribute reports. NPrinting is one of these.

NPrinting enables you to schedule and automatically distribute reports to multiple users via email, google drive or to a folder. These reports can be in excel, word, powerpoint, html pixel perfect, pdf etc.

Vizubi produce the NPrinting product. For more information, I would go to their website.

HEy,

So should i understand that NPrinitng is just used to print and distribute reports to users by email , google drive or to a folder ??

Because what i have understood is NPrinting is used to create the reports also lyk pixel perfect reports etc.

Please resolve the confusion.

I cannot understand why NPrinting is used and what is it advantage.

Sorry - I didn't make it clear.

You build the reports in NPrinting by pulling in the QlikView objects. The advantage is that you can build them using software templates more familiar to the end users - such as word, excel etc. QlikView objects can be pulled in and positioned in these templates.

Once completed, they will produce reports pulling the data from the current version of the QlikView app. So the end user will see an excel, word or powerpoint document containing data and tables refreshed from QlikView.

Hey,

YOu mean to say , there is a separate window open of NPrinting and from QLikview Window i can drag and drop Object like listbox , Fields name , input box etc to NPrinting Window. And then create a report in either Excel , Powerpoinyt or PDF format. Am i right ??

Hi, Nikhil.

Not quite (although NPrinting does open your QlikView app in the background). You decide in advance what format you are showing the data in (excel, word, powerpoint etc) and choose the appropriate template.

You will be presented in NPrinting with a list of QlikView object ids that exist in your application on the left side. You drag them into position. Once in position, some will show you a preview of what they look like in relation to each other or any text you may already have on the template.

So, for instance, you can have a QlikView bar chart in a powerpoint document with a paragraph of text below it explaining your how the data is derived as part of a business report. That report can be created automatically every month ready for you to present in a meeting with the executive board with that months QlikView data in the bar chart.

Ah, OK.

What I do now is right click on the link and 'unlink' the website addresses. It doesn't go through moderation as it is no longer a dynamic link. However, you have to manually paste it into your search engine to use it.
