you need to elaborate more your variables to understand this expression, how are you calculating vmaxyear and vsales.

but from what i see it is taking the sum of sales for the product = fruit, ignoring the month selection where year = vmaxyear( depends what is this variables) / vsales.

it depends what is the vSales variable, if in your case the vSales returns all the sales for this year, then your expression is returning the "Fruit Sales Contribution per Year".
