1.Do QVD compress data while extracting from different sources?

2.If SQL extracting data from database in 30min, but QV showing error in loading data from DB even after one hour, what would be the possible reasons and what need to be done to voer come this?

3.How to improve the performance in QV.

hi,

Below are responses.

1.Do QVD compress data while extracting from different sources?

We can store data from source into QVD at any time and use same QVD in QV.

QVD can store data in binaries.

2.If SQL extracting data from database in 30min, but QV showing error in loading data from DB even after one hour, what would be the possible reasons and what need to be done to voer come this?

First of all make sure you have proper database connection,if connection is not proper then definitey it will show an error.

3.How to improve the performance in QV.

Different methos,

Usage of QVD.

Use join,keep concatenate.

Usage of set analysis

write compex expression at script level rather than using it in chart level.

Use of variables.

Minimize the chart when not in use.

for an additional to the second point from Deepak, make sure you have enough RAM for the query result

Hi Vamsi,

1) As per my knowledge,QVD will not compress any data, but the data stored in QVD is Binary format and it transferred data to QVW file with its understandable format.

2) If u provide the error then we will check and give the solution ,otherwise which error it throws how can we know my dear friend?

3) First you need to check u r

1)QVW file is always "High" compression :-Document Properties->General Tab->in Save Format ->Compression:-"High"

2)Remove unnecessary columns from tables i.e i mean which ever columns u r not used in KPI's just comment those columns in script

3)Remove the Synthetic key's and table in Table viewer.

4)use joins freely with small amount of table.i.e i mean if any table is having <10 records in Data model/Table viewer then join those tables as per u r comfortable.

Hi Vamsi,

1)What is CALS in QV?

Client Access License (CAL's) using these cals only client will view our KPI's/Reports in Accesspoint.

2)Schedule task will happen in QV server or in publisher?

Scheduling the Report for loading fresh data in Publisher part.

How to schedule the Report is first u can save u r .QVW file in already defined folder in qvserver then go to the QMC(Qlikview Management console) here first u need to go Documents Tab->User Documents->select u r QC server expand that server and find u r >qvw application (in Green color)

now u can schedule the >qvw file go to Reload tab in right hand side and select Enable check box then select for Daily select the time and click on Apply button .Now you can see the Clock symbol on u r .QVW file in left hand side.

3)Can we use bar and line charts in single chart?

Yes, we can use these 2 charts in one single chart called Combo chart it is also available in chart Objects (3 rd option in charts).

4)Types of concatenations in QV?

There are 3 types of concatenations are available in QV those are

I)Automatic Concatenation (II) Forced Concatenation (III)No Concatenation. for those discussion please go through the below link

5)what is KPI's?

Key process Indicator (KPI) is nothing but our Reports in general terms.Here also we provide some values (Keys) for some particular indicators(Selected items in different objects like list box, calendar,multi box....etc)
