Do Bookmarks ever get deleted or refreshed automatically?

Hi,

Just curious do the bookmarks ever get cleaned out or emptied out? I was just looking into our dashboard and a month or so ago there were probably 40+ shared server bookmarks, now there is only one? Is there an automatic purge or something in QV that runs a bookmark clean out?

Check to see if you have bookmarks in the .shared file.If you can see it there and cannot see it on Acces Point then go the following path QMC > System > Setup > QlikView Servers > server > Documents and check "Allow Server Objects".

Temporary bookmarks, which are used to support the "Session Recovery" and "Mail with Bookmark as Link" functions, get deleted automatically after a period of time. Off hand, I can't recall the time frame. That could explain your noticing a reduction in bookmark counts.

Melton,

No, unfortunately there's no automatic purge for shared object or bookmarks created by the end user.

You must either manually remove them and/or disable users to create objects ( like Don Don describes). No this is working as design and if you want, you are more than welcome to submit an idea ( is the light bulb on the area to create a new discussion menu. Note! the idea page is under construction but you can submit it next week, when the page is available)

Other possibility is if you have changed your document name. a new shared file would be created with the changed name.
