Hi,

QEMC became QMC (QlikView Management Console) in v11 of QlikView.

This is a web based management page where you can configure your QlikView servers.

It also allows you to manage any other installed QlikView servers from a single place, instead of needing to connect to each separate server to update configuration.

You would still need to purchase and install the QlikView Servers / Publishers onto your hardware, but the QMC would allow you to configure them from a single console.

"QEMC lets you control multiple instances of QlikView Servers and multiple Publishers execution instances from a single management console, by means of an integrated tree-control. "

Does the above means that with QEMC ,

1: I can install multiple number of QLikview servers.

2: I can install multiple number of QLikview Publishers.

Please explain .

And what is the use of multiple qlikview servers and publishers ?? Will 1 QLikview publisher and Server not work out ??

Kindly help.

Thanx.

On the second point, a single QlikView server may be sufficient for you needs but it depends on your requirements, data, applications, hardware and number of users.

There are also advantages such as clustering and load balancing that can be done by multiple QVS or Publisher installations.

Yes you could have an environment such as that with

4 QlikView server machines

4 QlikView publisher machines

You could then configure this set-up with a single QlikView Management Console and manage all the servers from a central point. The QMC is really just a service that is running on a server, and provides a web based console for you to use.

You would need to purchase the licences, and also be aware that this set-up may need additional features adding to your licence such as clustering.

Best to contact your QlikView supplier for further confirmation and assistance as this would be a large installation.
