There's a checkbox in document settings: "Filter AccessPoint Document List Based on Section Access". Try that. I think it was available in V9.

If not, there's another way to do it, but it may not be desirable. If you have a list of all users, you can add them to section access and associate them with a "dummy" record, so they can't see any of the data in the application. Then you can detect the dummy record and conditionally show a message to the user using a text object. The drawback is that it uses a CAL when you do this.

Gary

I've developed a document that uses Section Access (NTNAME) to control authorization. The document is loaded on a QV Server v9SR7 that is configured with NTFS security and session CALs.

Upon opening, an authorized user has the document displayed, but an unauthorized user is promted for login.

Is there a simple way to notify the user that this is a secured report and whom they should contact to gain authorization?

The document is granted to 'All Authorized' on the server, becuase the users are constantly being modified and the user department wants to control it themseleves in a spreadsheet.

Unfortunately, this displays a secured document to all users in AccessPoint and may cause numerous help desk calls.

I tried displaying an image (Document Properties > Opening > Image), but I was unable to save the image setting for some unknown reason.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

B

Unfortunately, the setting was introduced in V10.

I'll try your other suggestion.

Thanks,

B
