set analysis and month selection issue

Hi. I have LatestActual field which I want to use in my set analysis expression to get the sum of the actuals. LatestActual is basically a flag which tells what is the latest month that has actuals posted in it.

Let’s say there are 3 metrics, 2 metrics have their LatestActual in Dec and 1 metrics has in Oct. I want set analysis to pick the corresponding LatestActual month for each of the metrics. Making any selections, triggers, macros is not allowed.

So basically, when you would open the app, you would see 3 metrics – 2 metrics (A,B) with actuals from Dec, and 1(C) metric with actual from Oct.

Hi Matthew,

I had a brief look at your Set Analysis question and could not figure out the problem. However a different and quite simple solution would be to put an IF statement into the Sum.

Try this, it looks to me that this will return the result you are looking for:

sum(If ( Month=month(LatestActual),Actual))
