    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've seen conflicting best practices regarding using Synthetic Keys.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;One the one hand, &lt;A _jive_internal="true" href="https://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-4556"&gt;http://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-4556&lt;/A&gt; has a Development Checklist that starts with Synthetic keys removed from data model.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On the other, &lt;A _jive_internal="true" href="https://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/04/16/synthetic-keys"&gt;http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/04/16/synthetic-keys&lt;/A&gt; says Synthetic keys do not cause memory performance issues and are great.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What are your thoughts if you have the same set of multiple keys in 2+ tables?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What are the disadvantages to using synthetic keys?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
