Hi,

I am always wondering why we should use table island. If i keep the link between the tables, doesnt it fulfill the same requirement?

As per my knowledge, qlikview works on associative data model, so when tables are linked, we get the proper results in the front end. Then why the table island??

Hello Suraj

I use the table island for ad hoc reports. You can create this table with the Dimensions and Expressions that you want give to the user, and inside the graphic you may turn on and off the dimension or expression using conditionally sentences.

Search examples with ad hoc reports and you will notice the usage of these tables,

Regards,
