Error in personal Edition

Respected Qlikview Team,

I am using Qlikview personal edition on my personal laptop doing practices every Saturday and Sunday , suddenly i got the error below screen shot for your reference.I have created many documents now how can i open it and study for future perspective Kindly Suggest .

Did u reboot ur system or reinstall os?

Did u clear ur registry files? May be this is bec of that.

Yes i reinstall OS and after that i install Qlikview personal edition, but i don't know suddenly what happens.

I believe you have different users in laptop if so then check and Uninstall the qlikview and then reboot system and then reinstall the qlikview.

Qlikview personal edition will create a key for ur Machine(system).. I don't think its user specific. Its machine specific.

May be it is corrupted as u have reinstalled the OS. May be a new key will be generated now. But i think its hard to open ur old files if a new key is created.

SIngle User ,after reboot and re-install it is possible can open my personal edition files ?

Once you re-install, the QVW files will be treated as made on another PC.

Due to having Personal Edition, you can't open any files made on another PC or another user.

That's the limitation of Personal Edition.

Documents created in Personal Edition can be opened by fully-licensed users or deployed on a QlikView server. The limitation is that, with the exception of some documents enabled for PE by QlikTech, you cannot open documents created elsewhere, or even your own documents if they have been opened and saved by another user or server instance.

don't do reinstall.inpace try to repair using setup

If u reinstall qv u will be given a new key for ur new os. So U can ope any document that u create from now on.. but not the documents that was created in the prior os(i mean machine key).

u should have licensed edition to open the old docs.

If you reset this and it generates a new key for you the next time you open one of your old documents it will ask if you want to use one of your 'Recovery Attempts'. This will mean that you can then open that document into the new QlikView with the new PE key. Any other documents created with the old PE key will also be able to be opened with the new PE key.

This will use your one remaining recovery attempt, so be careful if changing your OS again.

Something QlikView does when you do this though is remove the data from each QVW you load for the first time. All you have to do to recover this is a reload and you should be back where you started. The only thing to watch is if you have any 'only one selected' fields that tick box will need to be re-checked after the reload.

If you attempt this and is fouls up then contact support@qlik.com, I presume they have some way of resetting the number of recovery attempts you have (though I have no evidence of this).

Sundar is correct about the OS re-install causing QlikView to believe you are trying to open these files on another machine.

Dear Mr.Steve,

No i am using same machine (personal laptop for study this is my second post in community)

1st-I install OS
2nd-I install Qlikview PE
3rd-Create documents in Qlikview PE

4th-Tried Google map 1st time not get solution but getting many errors than i avoid.

5th-Open personal edition document getting above error(which i post)

Was the Google Maps example created by someone else? That could have used one of your recovery attempts.

I hope that they reset the recovery attempt counter for you.

Yes , Google Maps example created by someone else. There is 5 possibility to open Qlikview other document in personal edition.

And the document which i have created before in personal edition that i unable to open.

i don't know how "personal edition key file is missing or corrupt" its a Application error or OS error.
