Hi,

Could anyone suggest me about this. My user logged to access point from home and faced the below error and is it something network issue? what is the solution?

Your Application might be behind firewall. You user may have to login to VPN and then Access the AP site.

Do you have your AP site's public URL which like firewall opened then you can share that URL with your user.

Googling the error code gave me this:

Step 1: Troubleshoot the Web Proxy Connection

Determine if this issue occurs only when the Web Proxy service is used. To do this, install the Winsock Proxy Client on the client computer, disable the Web Proxy settings (under Local Area Network [LAN] settings on the Connections tab of the Internet Options dialog box), and then try to go to the Web site where you experience the problem. If you can reach the site successfully, the problem is with the Web Proxy timeout settings. If so, go to the next step.

Step 2: Increase the Web Proxy Timeout Settings

To increase the amount of time that the Web Proxy service waits before it closes idle sessions, follow these steps: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Navigate to the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3Proxy\Parameters
In the right pane of Registry Editor, right-click RequestTimeoutSecs, and then click Modify.
Click Decimal, and then type the number of seconds that you want the Web Proxy service to wait for a response before it returns an error message. A recommended value for this setting is 180 or more.
Click OK, and then restart the World Wide Web Publishing service. To restart this service:
1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Type net stop iisadmin /y, and then press ENTER.
3. When the service has stopped successfully, type net start iisadmin /y, and then press ENTER.
  
  Note You may have to restart additional dependent services that were stopped together with the IIS Admin Service.
Test the new settings from a client computer that is configured to use the Web Proxy service: try to go to the Web site where you experienced the problem. If the issue is not resolved, go to the next step.
If you still experience the timeout problems, start Registry Editor (if it is not already started), and then navigate to the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3Proxy\Parameters
In the right pane of Registry Editor, right-click SocketIoTimeoutSecs, and then click Modify.
Click Decimal, and then type a value of 300 (or more) in the Value data box.

Note This is the time in seconds that the Web Proxy service will wait before ending idle socket connections.
Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service.
Test the new settings from a client computer that is configured to use the Web Proxy service: try to go to the Web site where you experienced the problem. If the issue is not resolved, go to the next step.
Add the TcpMaxDataRetransmissions value to the Windows registry. For additional information about how to add and configure this value, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

If your Access Point has a Firewall and that is open to Internet that means someone can access your Access Point URL from Internet without being into your Office VPN then it would be called as Publicly Accessed URL.

Like www.google.com or yahoo.com you do not have to login to a VPN or private network to access these sites.

You need to verify this with your QlikView Admin folks.

Hi Amelia,

This is not qlikview error. The person who is accessing report from outside office is not in the company network that's why he is getting this error.

Solution for this is tell him to connect to your office network through VPN. Also requesting you to check with him again whenever he is available in your office network if he can see that report or not, this will confirm your doubt regarding the error which he is getting while connecting from outside office.

Hi Amelia,

From your image i was investigating with my tech folks and I got response mentioned below:

Error Code 10060: Connection timeout
Background: The gateway could not receive a timely response from the website you are trying to access. This might indicate that the network is congested, or that the website is experiencing technical difficulties. All other site -so far work as expected

I will suggest here to tell that person to restart his system and try to connect again through VPN and check if he can see that report or not?

Better first check without VPN if he can see that report in office or not?

Yes it is very much possible, tell him to connect to the internet via Dongle (He should not use office wireless or cable for internet connectivity) and than connect through VPN.

My user says it works with out VPN and with VPN in both ways. could I know will it work if he tries in home surely?

I think the report is working fine for him from both the angles , as suggested you in my first comment mat be because of network issue he might experienced that problem. I'm sure he can see that report from his home also.

right way to this is what Mr Sudeep suggested you have to make IP PUBLIC of Server

where Qlikview Server is installed ask your IT team / admin am sure they can do IP public

which is easy task for them.

you can can use Qlikview Intranet as well in Internet as far as you hav Qlikview CALS .
