Hi,

I have one query. can anyone clarify this please.

If I create a common document CAL for eg with name Students to qvw. will that allow to login all the users at the same time by using that Students document CAL?

Is it possible. I know may be it is not but is there any way to get access to multiple users with one CAL. If so please let me know.It is very urgent now

Hi Amelia,

No. If the user "Student" is accessing the same document on the server, the previous "Student" will get disconnected. There can only be one "Student" accessing that document at one time, even if you have sufficient licenses on the server.

You can use a session CAL.

Thanks. Is there any other way I can use this. As i don't have any session or usage cals now. And also very less document cals. so, I need this to give access to multiple users at a time. Is it possible with any other things. Please help me.

Amelia, it's technically possible, but I'm sure you are not allow to do this as per your contract.

One document CAL can be use by only one person.

Hi Amelia,

A document CAL is one user assigned to one document. It is possible to reassign document CAL with a quarantine of 24 hours (same as Named CALs). QLik GTC well specify that you cannot be flushed the CALs by any external process than QMC.

If you don't want to invest in additional CALs, evaluate alternate solution as use Edit Reports ton create static report and send to multiple recipients.

Thanks for the information. My users wants to access the document from their side. They can pull their own reports.

Actually Q L siad it is possible technically. what it means? could you elobarate more what technically means? Please.

Edit: Ok you mean that if I create one document CAL with common name. If one user access the document. to use the same document by another user it will take 24 hours time .Is that correct?

Hi Amelia,

A Document CAL is one user assigned with one Document CAL,Its possible to assign Document CAL to different user after 24 hours of removing earlier user access to that document..

Usually user access to document is AD authenticated,so he will be able to access only in his system.

The Client user must be identified via an authenticated user name(Windows Active Directorry or through a ticket exchange between web server and Qlikview server.

An IP address is not a valid form of identification.The two methods of identification cannot be mixed on the same instance of Qlikview server.

Note that user name identification requires Windows authentication on AJAX clients,since machine name identification cannot be used for these clients.
