Hi Martina,

Thanks for your answer. I have marked this as Helpful Answer since the solution to use the same field again with a different name and count on this new name, was a good workaround. I used it and it works.

Still, I cannot understand why I get "Total count n/a" when I create a statistics box on an association field that links two tables. I can only assume that, since this field appears in more than one table, It does not know which table to use to count the values from? Is this the problem? If "yes", is there a way to tell it to construct the statistics box using the field from a specific table?

Thanks in advance

Panayotis

But, this does not work.

Is there any explanation for that?

Panayotis

Hi, Panayotis,

in QlikView is every field unique even, if it is an association field, here it stores how often the content of this field is in the associated tables, maybe a sales person sells lots of products to lots of customers:

that means to count the sales persons unique, use: Count(Distinct SalesPerson)

better you enter the same field again with another name, than you can count them.

Greetings from Munich

Martina Brenner

EVACO GmbH

Hi, Panayotis,

this is exactly the point, in the statistics box you have to use even the new created field. In QlikView is every fieldname only once in the structure, the associated fields seem to be there twice or more, but definitively they are not doubled. This is the specific structure of the associative database!

Greetings from Munich

Martina Brenner

EVACO GmbH
