QlikView 10 - Questions regarding server objects

Hello all.

We are currently migrating from QV8.5 to QV10 SR2. Initially, we do not want to allow the users to create any server objects, bookmarks or reports.

My first question is if we deselect 'Allow Server Objects' in QlikView Enterprise Management Console, will this prevent the users from being able to create server objects, bookmarks and reports?

At some point we may want to allow users to create server objects on some qvws. At this point would we have to select 'Allow Server Objects' in QEMC and then control which qvw's are allowed to have server objects by selecting or deselecting the 3 Server Objects options in the Document Properties Server tab of each qvw?

If server objects can be created on a qvw, can we specify the users that are allowed to create the server objects?

Finally, is it recomended that controlling whether or not server objects, bookmarks and reports are allowed be done at the individual qvw level?

You've superbly summarized the current situation with server objects.

Hopefully the level of sophistication is enhanced for version 11, but for now you options are limited.

As far as I can tell, you are not currently able to control individual access to each server object component. You may need to maintain several versions of an application to obtain you desired result.
