    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If asked, how would you define the difference between a Business Intelligence software and a Management Information System?&amp;nbsp; QV clearly describes itself as a BI tool.&amp;nbsp; If you go to such a source as wikipedia to look up those terms, the two ideas seem to have a lot of overlap.&amp;nbsp; My assumption is that an MIS system encompasses the entire process of source systems creating a database and then feeding into various (mostly static) reporting systems.&amp;nbsp; A BI tool assumes first two steps are already existing, can handle reporting but really emphasizes the dynamic analytics and ad-hoc analysis.&amp;nbsp; So Qlikview is not an MIS system.&amp;nbsp; Is that correct terminology?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
