HI All

I'm very new to qlikview and I'm confused as to how to correctly create a combo chart.

My data structures is the following:

Present Data
ticket number	creation_date	close_date
ticket1	5/15/2011
ticket2	5/15/2011
ticket3	5/15/2011	5/15/2011

I want to where it shows me on 5/15/2011, I have 2 tickets created and 1 closed.

So far the only way I got the combo chart to work correctly was to create a new table in qlikview that takes my original data and transform it into this:

Data Needed
Date	creation_date	close_date
5/15/2011	ticket1
5/15/2011	ticket2
5/15/2011	ticket3
5/15/2011		ticket3

What's the better way of doing this?

I think, it might be better to transform it into a table like below (but that's probably depending on what you want to do with your data):

Date | ticket number | type

5/15/2011 | ticket1 | creation

5/15/2011 | ticket2 | creation

5/15/2011 | ticket3 | creation

5/15/2011 | ticket3 | closing

I would also create a separate calendar table (search for master calendar and calendar linkage table here in the forum, I think there is also an example in Rob Wunderlich's QV cookbook). Then link the Date from the your data table to the master calendar or use it as data island (depending what you want to achieve).

Just out of interest: in which way do you want to present your data in a combo chart?

hello there,

maybe you add a extra field in load script, flag that says if ticket is OPENED or NOT

Present Data
ticket number	creation_date	close_date	Status
ticket1	5/15/2011		Open tickets
ticket2	5/15/2011		Open tickets
ticket3	5/15/2011	5/15/2011	Closed tikets

and then buid table/chart with dimencions creation_date and Status and expression like = count(ticket_number)

Hi,

YesYou need to do load another field that manage the Ticket Info what is status and then load a resident load of the table with field Ticket_Info and get the details of ticket and use this field where ever you want to calculate.

Below is a code

Data:

Load * ,

If(close_date = 0, 'Ticket Open','Ticket Closed') as Ticket_Info

Resident Raw;
