Insert or Insert & Delete ?

Hi everyone,

I am working on a incremental Load Script for a MySQL-DB with a Unique Sequential ID. Just Inserts, no modifications and after a Couple of months : Deletes -> but only on the MySQLside, not in the single growing QVD.

I this Incremental Load-Szenario (according to Qlikviewlogic) a pure Insert or an Insert (Modifications) and Delete-Setup ?

Are the MySQL deletions due to housekeeping of old data or some other reason?

The MySQL-DB is relativly big and fast growing. Lack of Ressources on the MySQL-Side. We can keep a couple of month but not more. But there is no need to delete the data in the qvd.

In that case do a simple Insert only Incremental load into your QVD.

Your QVD will then keep all the historical data for QV Analysis which could be of use, for historical anaylsis and effectively become a data archive when the data is deleted from your source MySql database.
