1. Search for "Using QVD files for incremental load" in the help file. There is a few very good examples

3. Concatenating tables can be advantageous when there are multiple fields that define the join between tables. It is sometime easier to just concatenate the tables vs creating compound keys (e.g. a budget table and a sales table)
