Scripting Techniques

Hi Experts,

I want to know the various techniques we use in script to make the data model perfect in qlikview.

The few techniques i know are, eg- using applymap() to creanup the data model, IF conditions to create new field values, renaming fields etc.

I understand that it depends on the business requirement or may be how we want to build the data model. But I want to have this list, to get an idea about what all I can do to make my data model perfect.

Specially, become friends with Henric Cronström , read everything he published.

Hi Suraj,

As Gerrit said, follow the posts, Blogs in the community regularly and try to answer to the posts. This way you can master in Scripting. Also go through all the topics in Qlikview help file and try to work it out each and every keyword in Qlikview. There are different types of loads, try all of those

Mapping Load

IntervalMatch

Binary Load

Joins

Concatenate

Where & While conditions

Exists

Operators

Hierarchical loads

Generic load

CrossTable

Learn Datawarehouse Concepts

Data Modelling (Star, Snowflake schema)

Qlikview inbuilt functions (Date, String etc)

etc.

This are the alphabets of Qlikview. Try all this with examples and try to understand where to use which, this way you can master in scripting. You can find this topics with examples in Qlikview help file and also n number of posts in community.
